Provisional Data Disclaimer
Continuous and real-time data on this website are provisional in the current year and at least six months of the previous year. While data are reviewed periodically to ensure accuracy, each station record is considered provisional until the data are finalized. Typically, the data are finalized about every 90 days for the previous 180 days of data collected.
Provisional data can be subject to change and are not citable until reviewed and approved by the U.S. Geological Survey. Real-time data may change after review because the stage-discharge relationship, water-quality sensors, and computed data may have been affected by:
- backwater from ice or debris such as log jams
- algal and aquatic growth in the stream
- sediment movement
- malfunction of recording equipment
- changes in water quality that require regression model revisions
Data users are cautioned to consider carefully the provisional nature of the information before using it for decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business that involves substantial monetary or operational consequences.
Information concerning the accuracy and appropriate uses of these data or concerning other hydrologic data may be obtained by contacting the USGS. Contact information is provided at the bottom of each data viewing page.
